Video Production Folder Structure
One thing I've learnt as an editor is staying organized is key ðŸ˜
This is the base folder structure I use for every project!
How to Use:
-> Unzip the folder & place the new "PROJECT NAME" folder onto your desktop or SSD (this'll be the 'hard' copy)
-> For every new video project simply copy and paste the hard copy to your editing destination & change the folder name
this is by all means meant to be customizable so feel free to take out some unnecessary folders from your hard copy so that it's tailored to you & ready to copy and paste
(e.g. you may not need 'graded' & 'ungraded' folders in the Export section if you only edit in one program)
How I Use (For those interested):
-> I save my Premiere project file to 'proj files'
-> All footage goes to one folder, if I don't shoot with two cams I delete those folders and just shove all the footage in the folder
-> 'Animations' folder is anything i take into After Effects & from there I create sub folders for whatever work I do. For example, I'd create a "animated-text" folder and this will be all text work, or "car-build-animation" type situation
-> For those who came from the video, in the Exports folder, 'graded' and 'ungraded' is where my timeline exports go. Ungraded is my ProRes export from Premiere, Graded is my export from Resolve... If I'm working with a client & I know there'll be revisions/need approval, in the ungraded folder I'd create sub folders for each export (Rough Cut, Fine Cut, Final Cut) these exports are made in a more manageable codec like h264, but I honestly delete these after the final export is made just to save storage lol
You'll get a '.zip' file containing the folder structure.
